Ohhhhh back log

Eventually, I say. Eventually I will actually write a pertinent and important post. I really am trying to make any large scale amount of writing or posting you know, good. Anyway. Til then.

An Unassuming Return

So the last time I posted I drowned myself in expectations. Whoops. Luckily I've created a good little back log of images, so those will come out every couple of days, lengthy post or not. Bertrand Russell certainly had some ideas that were ahead of his time. Good for him. Oh and hey, color!

A Somewhat Triumphant Return

So after nearly two months, I return to the internet with an inking (photo inking, manipulation, whatever you want to call it) of Alexis Texas along with a quote from her as well. The funny thing about porn actresses is that more often than not, they seem to be insightful regarding the in-and-outs (see what I did there?) of human sexuality. Granted, Alexis' opinion is of course subjective to herself and in no way could she expect everyone in the world to try porn solely for exploratory purposes, the point she raises is a good one. "Feminist in practice" and pornographer Dian Hanson echoes Alexis' sentiments quite plainly, stating "real feminism isn't about worrying whether porn is for you. It's feeling free to make your own choices. We don't have to be protected. We can go out into the world and deal with what's there," in an article entitled "Obscene Feminists."  (Scroll down two thirds of the way down the page to find the article.) The article is a great read and does a great deal in breaking down how women have been at the forefront of the anti-censorship movement.

I return however due to a barrage of topics emerging in the news including but not limited to: Planned Parenthood getting fucked by the federal government, Obama's request that the supreme court ignore laws prohibiting same-sex marriage and of course societies hang ups with sexuality. The latter I am fairly excited to explore, as I plan on delving into feminine interpretations of pornography, how women identify, enjoy and experience porn, varieties of feminist literature regarding sexually explicit material and last but not least the fluidity of female sexuality. All of this will be thrown together in an attempt to be topical while also maintaining a focus on society at larges aversion to the female nipple.

Now last time I decided to write about a variety of similar, interwoven topics I fucked up. I said that I'd write again regarding what was on my mind and utterly failed. Suffice to say I have a lot more time on my hands now, so I am hoping my content will be appearing on a fairly regular basis. With that being said, that's all I have time for tonight. I do know however that this will not be my last post for the next two months. Never again.

Also. Though I don't want to stat curse myself, I noticed recently I have slightly over 1500 page views but next to no comments. If you stumble upon this site and would like to share your thoughts, please do! I would love to hear them.

More words than I'm comfortable with

I use the quote from Betty Dodson for two reasons, the first being that what she says is true. Even some of the kindest and most moderate minded of people I've known (including myself) have been/are led to believe that the word "feminist," is a bad one. I know that in the past, I have excluded myself and my ideals from the feminist pedagogue due to my belief that feminist dialogue often times opens up a mentality of us versus them. It is my opinion that there are many, many more people in the world who accept feminist ideals, but refuse to call themselves feminist due to a weariness caused from semantics. That is; the utterances of radicals under the banner of feminism, (ie the misconception of the man hating feminist, the anti-sex feminist and financial gain feminist*) sway far too many people away from what the core tenets of feminism are/should be. Those tenets, which in my conceptions encompass a general opposition to violence in all of its forms, the eradication of rape culture and the acceptance and respect of peoples and societies outside that of the Anglo-European one, are ideas that are certainly appealing to the majority of people that I know. Unfortunately, Dodson is right. The media prefers the inflammatory and will always focus on the polar ends of an issue. Regrettably, as in most things, the truth of the matter lies somewhere in the middle and as long as their is bickering between feminism and the rest of society, those in the middle will remain behind. This is a topic that I will return to later, due to my preoccupation with the lack of trust a lot of the public has with a movement whose ideals are based in decent human respect.

The second reason, is that this is the second Betty Dodson quote I've found and liked. Due to her second appearance, I once again looked up the woman and found that she was the founder of sex-positive feminism. Which too, will be a topic I will revisit as it seems to me as though this blog is quickly becoming a sex positive blog.

*I use the economic feminist as one of these examples not because I do not believe in equal pay for women or the existence of work place inequality, but rather to paint a picture. That picture is, the feminist who focuses more on wealth and monetary gain than the social and political aspects of the movement.

Whoops, getting more graphic

Needless to say, the subject of my quotes has veered away from douche bags and has settled somewhere between social criticism and our societies hang ups with sex and pornography. Go figure. I suppose sometimes it is easier to start a discussion about sexuality when it is staring you right in the face.

Roger Horrocks wrote a book called Male Myths and Icons: Masculinity in Popular Culture. I read the chapter regarding pornography  and it was indeed compelling. I will likely round up my thoughts regarding this chapter at a later date. Perhaps tomorrow. Perhaps not.

The first penis

That is, the first penis that I've inked and put up.  Healthy sexuality. Whooooooooooooooo

Anyway, the woman I quoted writes for a site called www.amplifyyourvoice.org and has a column entitled "Yes Means Yes." I only read the article that I drew the quote from, but I recommend reading it, as it greatly mirrors my opinion regarding the split personality of American media regarding the overt sexuality of grown women and the purity myth of young and teenage girls. Anyway. That's that.

Also, I wonder if showing penis-vagina penetration will get me my first flag. If I haven't been already.

More Masturbation

So three out of four posts are about masturbation. Apparently, I think society views it weirdly. I guess.
